Safety & Insurance
AJ Events and Decor is fully insured for public and professional liability. All equipment, including electrical items, balloons, and décor props, are PAT tested and maintained to the highest safety standards to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience at your event.
1. Booking & Payment
- A booking is confirmed only once a non-refundable retainer has been received.
- The retainer secures your event date and is deducted from the final balance.
- The remaining balance must be paid no later than 7 days before the event date.
Failure to pay the remaining balance by the due date may result in cancellation of services.
2. Damage Deposit
A refundable damage deposit may be required for certain bookings. This will be confirmed at the time of booking.
The deposit can be paid in cash on the day of your event and will be returned when we come to collect the hired items, provided all items are returned in their original condition. Charges will be deducted for any loss, damage, or excessive soiling.
3. Cancellations
- The retainer is non-refundable under all circumstances.
- If cancellation occurs within 7 days of the event, the full balance may still be payable.
4. Changes to Booking
Any changes must be requested in writing. Additional items or last-minute changes may incur extra charges.
5. Setup & Collection
- Access to the venue must be provided at the agreed time.
- Collection times will be agreed in advance.
- Clients are responsible for ensuring safe and suitable access for setup and breakdown.
6. Balloon Disclaimer
Balloons are delicate and may naturally deflate, oxidise, or change appearance due to temperature, humidity, sunlight, or handling. AJ Events and Decor cannot guarantee balloon longevity once installation has been completed, particularly for outdoor events or in extreme weather conditions.
7. Outdoor Events & Weather
The client is responsible for providing a suitable and safe setup area for outdoor events. AJ Events and Decor is not liable for damage or deterioration caused by wind, rain, heat, or other adverse weather conditions. In cases of unsafe weather, we reserve the right to refuse installation for safety reasons.
8. Damage & Loss
The client is responsible for any loss or damage to hired items during the event period. Charges will apply for damaged, lost, or excessively soiled items.
9. Venue Restrictions
Clients are responsible for checking venue rules regarding décor items (e.g., candles, wall attachments, mood lighting or fabric backdrops). We are not liable if any décor cannot be installed or used due to venue restrictions.
10. Liability
AJ Events and Decor will not be held responsible for:
- Venue delays
- Third-party supplier issues
- Circumstances beyond our control, including extreme weather, natural disasters, strikes, government restrictions, or sudden illness of key personnel (force majeure)
11. Photography & Marketing
AJ Events and Decor reserves the right to photograph and/or video décor setups, including items that may feature client names or initials (e.g., personalised arches, signage, or décor), for marketing, promotional, and social media purposes. These images and videos will focus on the décor and styling and will not identify clients personally unless explicit written permission is provided.

By paying a retainer, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
